Planning Some Podcasting!
May 24, 2020
In a bid to more occupy my time, I am going to start recording some podcasts. Learn more about it!
I have always been intrigued by podcasts, but they have always been second to just my usual music tastes. I am usually working on something when I am listening to something and I need that thing to not also require my focus. Podcasts would require me to dedicate that entire block of time, to just listening to them. Which may not be a bad thing all things considered now that I write about it. I do sometimes spend my Saturday morning listening to The WAN Show from the guys over at Linus Tech Tips, maybe podcasts could be something I spend my mornings listening to as I wake up or drink a cup of coffee.
But, during these lockdown times, I still aim to occupy a large amount of my time. Plus, I feel there are some areas that I would like to talk about at length. At the end of the day, for me it is just a bit of fun! I am not interested in getting thousands of listens, rather I just want to be able to have a place where I can create content that I feel like creating, in a pattern that suits me. I am already creating blog posts, but I know they can be quite word heavy. I could introduce images to break things up a bit, but in my mind, it is still the same amount of content, only more spaced out. I think offering the content in audio form could allow those who do not have my issues of focus around podcast listening, to enjoy what I write while working on something else. Or they take the time to listen to it like I do any podcasts I listen to.
So, to start with, I will begin with one podcast that is simply myself reading aloud the posts that I have written. Really basic and easy to begin with before I start exploring other avenues. I eventually want to expand talking about certain technologies, perhaps even walkthroughs of some things you can do on the cloud. Who knows! I shall create what I feel like creating and if an audience happens to enjoy it, great. If not, ah sure look it will be grand! Of course, too, in my DIY spirit on cloud computing, I will be building out my platform and means of hosting my podcasts and I shall aim to target the big three in terms of listeners (Apple, Google and Spotify). I will share more about that when it is complete and hopefully be able to open source it too. So, watch this space! I look forward to sharing the first few episodes as they come down the line.
Thank you!
You could of consumed content on any website, but you went ahead and consumed my content, so I'm very grateful! If you liked this, then you might like this other piece of content I worked on.

I've no real claim to fame when it comes to good photos, so it's why the header photo for this post was shot by ConvertKit . You can find some more photos from them on Unsplash. Unsplash is a great place to source photos for your website, presentation and more! But it wouldn't be anything without the photographers who put in the work.
